Solace is a shapeshifter without a purpose, until he’s told to find Lucy and keep her safe. But before he fully grasps his mission, he realizes he’s led the danger right to her. Once set with his purpose, Solace helps Lucy attempt to understand why she’s in danger and what they can do to stop it.
 
What they discover is that the myth of Pandora’s Box isn’t a myth at all, and that Lucy houses the one spirit that remained in the box when the others escaped: the spirit of hope. Solace and Lucy’s mission is to figure out how to get the spirit of hope into a suitable vessel before Pandora comes back to collect what she views as hers and hides it away from humanity. 
 
There’s just one problem: Solace and Lucy discover that the only way to get the spirit out of a living vessel is for the living vessel to die.
