The Arkainian Chronicles takes place on the fictional planet of Arkainia and follows the lives of General Lokun Abakkus, an Arkainian male forced to retire from the military by the Glypha Committee, the governing body in their society; and Star Shine Miller, a human female who came to Arkainia seeking a better life. When Lokun and Star are brought together, something happens that has not happened in Arkainian society over seven hundred years, but it is something that has been eagerly anticipated by the ones who have carefully preserved the bloodline that dates back to the birth of the Arkainian species.

Author's Note: There are at least five books planned for the series, but there might be six. I know how I want the series to end. I am just uncertain how long it will take me to get there.

Read Chapter Two

Ten years ago, humans developed the knowledge and ability to explore beyond their own planet and out into the vastness of space.

What they found was they were neither the first species to explore the galaxy, nor were they the most powerful. To secure the future, Earth’s leaders reached out to other species offering peace and a mutually beneficial arrangement. One such arrangement was with the Arkainians.

Humans have the opportunity to enter the Interstellar Employment Agency with hope of an exciting future. Arkainians offer protection to Earth, while humans travel to Arkainia to either work in the mines or as domestic housekeepers. Star Miller accepts an offer working in what she hopes is a peaceful and easy job of housekeeper for a recently retired Arkainian general.

General Lokun Abakkus is one of four generals in the Arkainian military and the youngest general in Arkainian history. He is summoned to the capital city before he’s able to depart on his next mission. The resulting events transform Lokun and Star’s lives and forever change the future of the entire Arkainian race.

Read Prologue

The only mountain on the desert planet of Arkainia is dying.

The mining taking place under the mountain has to stop before it’s too late, and it’s up to Lokun Abakkus to use his skills as a former military general to mobilize a band of allies and take action. Shutting down the mining operation is sure to draw the attention of the powerful Glypha Committee in the distant city of Mesta, and retaliation is certain.

Meanwhile, Star Miller is living with Lokun in the Outlands, a rugged and remote part of the planet where outcasts like Lokun are sent off to die and rebels take their chances. Star came from Earth looking for adventure. Now she’s carrying Lokun’s child. There has never been a pregnancy on Arkainia like this one, and the unknown risks leave the survival of both mother and child hanging in the balance.

The stakes are high: Lokun and Star’s child is destined to fulfill a prophecy that will determine the future of the Arkainian race, while the fate of the planet is tied to the survival of the mountain – a mountain that is much more than it appears to be.

Read Chapter One

A battle is coming. Lokun Abakkus can feel it.

On the desert planet of Arkainia, the former general has declared himself protector of the Sacred Mountain that is both the source of all Arkainia’s life, and the place to which all life energy returns. After thousands of sun rotations, the mountain is beginning to wake up. But if the mountain ever dies, so does Arkainia.

A message has come from Jorial, Lokun’s trusted friend and former second-in-command, that an Arkainian general is coming to launch an attack to reclaim the mountain for the Glypha Committee. The all-female ruling body that controls the planet, including the mountain, wants to resume the mining operations that Lokun has put a stop to.

But Lokun has more to worry about than just the imminent attack he’s already been planning for. Someone in the settlement where Lokun lives with his human mate, Star Miller, is trying to kill him. And that person is using Star to get to him. Lokun is blood-bound to Star, which means killing her would ultimately kill him.

Star, meanwhile, is adjusting to life as a new mother to little Mira—half-human, half-Arkianian, the first of her kind. Those in the settlement call her the Child of Prophecy, the one who was long ago predicted to be the bringer of peace for five hundred lifetimes.

The fate of Star, Mira, and the mountain rests in Lokun’s hands. And it’s up to Star to keep her overprotective mate from turning their settlement upside-down in his attempt to find the infiltrator in their midst.
